Raquel Subirats Blanco Social stratification   Why in society are there more rich and powerful in some groups than others? How much inequality exist in modern society? (Gini coefficient) difference between rich and poor.
Social structure - Set of stratification axis that ratios acces to social resources.
The form that adopts the global system of relations between individuals.
Studies of social structure are cartographies of social positions of inequality.
Gender, age, race, social class, terrority, sexual orientation, etc.
- Any system of social stratification is based on an explanation: A discourse of legitimization.
 Religion: God wants it that way.
 Nature: Everyone takes the position that is corresponded for them.
 Science: “Science” says things are like that.
SOCIAL CLASS as a form of social stratification: - According to the relation with means (mitjans) of production (MARX) According to the production. Socioeconomic status (BOURDIEU) MARX (1818-1883) - Primitive acomulation of capital.
Charactetistics of human being: - Produces their means of existence (livehood).
Create their needs: it is rich in needs (es rico en necesidades, tiene muchas).

The organization of society depends on means of production.

A part de la posició segons els mitjans de producció hi ha altres aspectes que condicionen els estils de vida.
